Driving Accreditation Success and Supply Chain Excellence at Troo Health

‘Brand Reputation through Compliance’

Client: Troo Health
Industry: Food Supplements and Vitamins

Troo Health operates both as a B2B supplier under the Nutribl brand and a B2C retailer of food supplements and vitamins. Despite holding ISO 9001 certification, their ability to scale their B2C operations was hindered by the growing demand for food safety accreditation, such as BRCGS Agents and Brokers, from platforms like Amazon and TikTok. This posed a significant challenge to their growth trajectory in a competitive marketplace.

Challenges

The primary obstacle faced by Troo Health was their limited resources. As a small team, they struggled to develop the robust systems required to meet the BRCGS Agents and Brokers standard. The dual nature of their business—catering to both B2B and B2C markets—added further complexity. Tailoring product safety systems to accommodate the differing requirements of these two streams proved challenging, particularly as the regulations and supplier approval processes for food supplements differ from those of standard food products.

These unique conditions heightened the difficulty of establishing comprehensive safety and compliance systems, which were essential to meeting regulatory standards and customer expectations.

Preparation & Implementation

To address these challenges, Food Safety Assist provided hands-on mentoring for the business owner and the newly appointed Head of Operations. Together, they worked to create a dedicated food safety management system tailored to Troo Health’s specific business structure and product range.

The process began with a thorough gap analysis of Troo Health’s existing systems. Based on the findings, Food Safety Assist developed a detailed project plan and worked closely with the team to implement it. The collaborative approach ensured that Troo Health’s staff gained a deeper understanding of the requirements of the BRCGS Agents and Brokers standard.

Another key aspect of the project was the development of a robust supplier approval process. This involved in-depth research into the food supplement supply chain and the integration of these insights into the company’s safety systems. By doing so, Troo Health established stronger control measures to ensure compliance and build trust with their customers.

The mentoring process proved transformative. It equipped Troo Health’s team with the knowledge and skills to seamlessly incorporate new controls into their existing systems, significantly improving their ability to meet accreditation standards.

Outcomes & Results

As a result of partnering with Food Safety Assist, Troo Health achieved a higher level of control over their supply chain and outsourced operations. This not only enhanced their ability to meet legal and regulatory requirements but also bolstered customer confidence in their products and services.

B2B clients now receive greater assurance that Troo Health’s operations adhere to stringent food safety standards. This improved credibility has strengthened the company’s standing in the market, paving the way for future growth and collaboration with major platforms like Amazon and TikTok.
To ensure ongoing compliance, Food Safety Assist continues to provide post-audit maintenance services. Regular internal system audits and participation in monthly management reviews help Troo Health stay ahead of food safety standards, maintaining their accreditation and supporting their long-term success.
