Hattingley Valley is one of the UK’s most successful wineries, renowned for its innovative approach and award-winning English wines. With over 200 medals and 16 trophies from prestigious international competitions, their products are enjoyed across the UK and exported to 16 countries worldwide. To maintain this reputation, Hattingley needed a robust product safety system that aligned with industry standards and supported their growth.
Our Solution
Food Safety Assist partnered with Hattingley Valley to strengthen their food safety and quality assurance framework. We began by working closely with the QA Manager and her team, later expanding collaboration to include senior management. Over a 12-month period, we conducted multiple site visits, developed and implemented key policies and procedures tailored to their operations, and built a comprehensive product safety system to meet SALSA accreditation requirements.
The Outcome
Our partnership delivered exceptional results: Hattingley Valley achieved their initial SALSA certification in July 2024 with zero non-conformances and only one minor improvement. In 2025, they successfully maintained SALSA accreditation for a second year, again with no non-conformances.
Looking Ahead
We continue to support Hattingley Valley through biannual site visits, conducting SALSA reviews and advising on system improvements. This ongoing collaboration ensures they maintain compliance, uphold high standards, and remain a leader in the English wine industry.
